It turns out the documentary John de Lancie mentioned at the Ottawa Comiccon this past weekend not only involves his upcoming appearance at BronyCon, but is centered around it. The second executive producer is Michael Brockhoff, who can draw on more than a decade of experience in the area of documentary film making, and the résumé of Laurent Malaquais, the director, also reaches back into the 90s. Consulting Producer Andrew Brockert, of course, is the chair of BronyCon.
Here the description from their Kickstarter page:
In the summer of 2012 a rapidly growing adult fanbase will gather to celebrate the TV show “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”.
This feature length documentary will follow several individual journeys that converge at the convention. We’ll find out who the fans are and what is driving this phenomenon.
What will the funds be used for? The short answer is quality. This program will be shot with broadcast quality equipment and crewed by professional camera operators, sound mixers and editors who do this for a living.
Thank you for your support! Please help spread the word to make this project possible.
