It was only a little over a week ago that we posted BUCK’s ticket sales announcement, and for a moment, it seems, they were virtually inundated in sales. Unfortunately PayPal caused them problems that left them no choice than to refund all tickets, say buck PayPal, and switch to Stripe.
If you ordered tickets between the 24th and the 29th of March, you’ll have to do so again. Your original payment will be refunded.
We are thrilled to announce that BUCK tickets are now back on sale!
On the 29th of March we were forced to halt ticket sales due to problems with PayPal, who we were using to process our ticket payments. The sudden influx of sales from our tickets going on sale resulted in a reserve of £300,000, which is far beyond our anticipated ticket sales. This meant that we were unable to withdraw any money below the reserve amount, effectively cutting us off from our entire revenue, the money needed to make BUCK happen! We decided to halt ticket sales until this issue was resolved, in order not to exacerbate the problem by accepting more money into our PayPal account.
Unfortunately PayPal have been very uncooperative in our attempts to remedy the situation with existing tickets, offering us only half our money now, with the other half to be released to us after the con is over. This would not leave us with enough money to cover our costs, so PayPal have left us with no other option than to refund all ticket sales made in using their service, and switch to a difference payment processor. We are now using the excellent Stripe service for payments.
For those who have purchased tickets: all tickets sold between 24th of March and the 29th of March 2013 are now INVALID. You will receive a full refund on the card you used to make the purchase, via PayPal. This should be processed within the next couple of days.
Celestia Tier ticket-holders: since we sold out of our first wave, it would be unfair for us to put these up for general sale again. Therefore, we will reserve your new tickets for you until we release the next wave (we will announce wave 2 in advance). We will contact you with details on how to re-purchase your tickets.
Vendors: we will contact you with details on how to re-purchase your tickets.
All other paid ticket holders: tickets will be available for re-purchase via our Tickets page. Purchase them as you normally would.
