Welp, less a month till Bronycon and all the interesting things that will occur, we do have several members of our team attending so we’ll be sure to bring ya your pasta. Meanwhile the other cons are hard at work and along with that work comes press releases. So here is your weekly digest.

Europe’s BUCK & Galacon, and the Bronycon Documentary

It seems the folks behind BUCK (Uk Pony Convention) and Galacon (Germany Pony Convention) did some talking with John de Lancie and the Bronycon Documentary and have arranged the possibility of being including in this documentary, but only if the documentary can raise enough funds (goal of $270,000 to include the Europe Community) via their Kickstarter Campaign. If the goal is met then they will hit the UK and Germany this August to attend BUCK and Galacon.

BUCK @ The London Anime Con

Members of the BUCK committee will be attending London Anime Con as VIPs.
We are going to be hosting a fun 1 hour panel discussing the Brony community in the UK and how it’s grown, answer any questions about BUCK and will also feature in the LAC Conbook!
So anyone going to that Con, keep a lookout for us!

Bronycon Hotel Code Update

Here is a summary of all the special BronyCon-specific hotel codes currently available for the hotels in the immediate vicinity of the Meadowlands Expo Center. Remember, these room codes are only valid for booking a room from 6/29 to 7/2. If you wish to book a room for other nights, you must pay the usual price. If you have already booked a room and wish to apply the hotel code, you may call the hotel you have booked and ask them to apply the specific Hotel Code listed next to each hotel to your reservation (ie the hotel code for the Holiday Inn is BCG). Bronycon Charity Auction Release

BronyCon is pleased to announce its official charity for Summer 2012: Child’s Play! Child’s Play’s mission is to “seek to improve the lives of children in hospitals around the world through the kindness and generosity of the video game industry and the power of play.” The charity puts together wish lists of video games, toys, books, and other fun things for kids to do, and uses the donations they receive to purchase these items and deliver them to the kids who need them in over 70 hospitals around the world. You can find more information at their website,

Child’s Play is a fantastic organization, and BronyCon is proud to have them as our charity of choice. What does this mean specifically for the charity, and for you, the attendee? Quite a few things actually. First, we will have a table set up for donations. We will be accepting cash donations, all proceeds of which will be donated in their entirety directly to Child’s Play!

BronyCon will also be collecting donations of unopened toys and non-expired canned goods, to be delivered to local charitable organizations in the New York / New Jersey metropolitan area! Even if you can’t bring in canned goods or toys from home there are stores just two minutes of walking away from the convention center that sell both, so you can still do good for those in need!

Last but certainly not least, as the official charity of BronyCon Summer 2012, 50% of all proceeds from the charity auction at 7 PM on Saturday will go directly to Child’s Play! If you have a unique, awesome, one of a kind pony item that you would like to donate to the auction, you can e-mail our Charity Director Cupcakes with information. He can be reached at . We will be accepting donations for the auction both at the convention and by mail, so even if you can’t make it but want to support a good cause you can still help out.

Speaking of one of a kind items, we have an amazing one on offer this time. The Comic Con pony posters are already pretty rare, right? However, Purple Tinker has graciously donated her Comic Con poster, gifted to her directly by The Hub, signed by the likes of Tara Strong, Andrea Libman, Ashleigh Ball, Cathy Weseluck, Michelle Creber, Claire Corlett, Madeline Peters, Richard Cox, Lee Tockar, Brenda Crichlow, Tabitha St. Germain, Nicole Oliver, and to make it all complete, the one and only Lauren Faust!

That’s right, this poster has been signed by the creator of the show, as well as the entire season 1 cast! It also includes the original letter of authenticity sent from The Hub with a description of the item, as well as a personal note to the fandom from, and signed by, Greg Heanue, Vice President of Marketing and Promotions with The Hub! One choice quote from the letter reads, “The only thing better than the program, are the fans like you!” This is truly a one of a kind item, and one that we hope will bring in a ton of money for such a worthy cause.

This is Haybuck and Cupcakes with BronyCon, signing out. We can’t wait to see you all there!

This Thursday on TrotCon‘s weekly stream, we will be chatting with Inky Notebook (Traveling Pony Museum) and Cupcakes Nom (Humble Brony Bundle). We’ll be taking viewer questions for both of them, as well as general questions about our convention. Additionally, half of the money received from badge registrations submitted during this stream will be sent straight to the Humble Brony Bundle, and on top of that, we will match up to $500 in donations toward the Humble Brony Bundle and Traveling Pony Museum. With your support, we could be putting over $1000 toward charitable causes during this stream!
If you haven’t registered yet, this is an excellent time to do so, not only because your money will be going to a good place, but also because time is running out for getting your badge for a mere $20! On June 14, registration prices bump up to $25, and the option to have your own art on your badge disappears.
Join us, June 7th, 10 PM Eastern:
(Note for those who have been following our streams in the past, we’ve moved from Livestream to – apologies for any confusion this might cause)
Got a knack for making costumes? No? Well, enter our cosplay contest anyway! We encourage anypony, at any level, to compete and participate in this event with your best pony costumes! Signups will be on Saturday of the con, and once you’re signed up, please show up one hour before Masquerade, where you will be judged on your costume and then be seated in the green room until showtime. During the show, you’ll be asked to walk on stage to show off your duds, and afterwards, prizes will be given out for the following categories:
  • Best Craftsmanship: any costume that was completely made from the costumer’s skill, and does not include any pre-made or store-bought items.
  • Best Personification/Humanized: the pony we believe best translated the character they’re cosplaying as. This includes the use of any “found items” — that is, items purchased from a retail store. This also includes any craftsmanship, and even can include your personality!
