A few updates from our friends over at IDW.

First the preview pages for Issue #12 were released last night via iTunes, images can be seen below in our gallery, or click the link for iTunes. Second are preview pages for the first MLP Annual Book. If you’re not deeply into comics, the Annual comic is an oversize issue that typically follows a longer side story than the main series. The first edition is aimed to follow along with the Equestria Girls movie, as seen in the preview description below.

And then IDW announced today their Micro-Fun Pack series. The short version of this is a smaller version of the main comic book series, reissued in a smaller format and packed full of goodies for the kids. An ideal gift for any of the younger fans.

Enjoy.

MLP Micro Fun Pack Announced

San Diego, CA (October 15th, 2013)  Today, IDW announced a brand-new format in which fans can enjoy comics, the Micro-Fun Pack! This new mini-comic line will be available on November 1, featuring four My Little Pony Micro-series issues: Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dashand Applejack. Everyone’s favorite ponies will all be shrinking down to a new 5.75″ x 3″ size, designed to bring the world of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic into your school bags and pockets.

“These micro-fun packs are full of great surprises,” said IDW CEO and publisher, Ted Adams. “We’ve taken the micro-series comic and re-lettered it to adjust for the new size, then we’ve added a host of new content that will provide hours of fun. It’s a huge home run and we’re happy to continue the IDW tradition of delivering innovative, quality books.”

Each mini-fun pack comes with a complete 22-page micro-series comic book that’s been re-formatted for the size. On top of adjusting for size, the content of the book has been updated as well, with a two-page My Little Pony play set splash page in the middle of each book, which provides the perfect backdrop for arranging the removable sticker also included in each pack. In addition, a three-page “How-to-Draw” tutorial has been added to each issue, sure to bring joy to any aspiring artist.  On top of the comic and sticker, each pack also contains one of 16 different foldout posters and tattoos. That means My Little Pony fans will have plenty of opportunity to collect and trade these goodies with their friends.

“These fun packs are going to really wow people,” said IDW’s director of new business Jerry Bennington. “The amount of content we’ve packed into such a small package is wonderful. Hopefully some fans out there will pick up these comics, start practicing the tips they learn in the “How-to-Draw” pages, and maybe they’ll be auditioning for work with us some day. This is a product for fans both young and old. We want everyone to join in the fun!”

Available this November in select Walmart, Target and Toys R’ Us stores, The My Little Pony Micro-Fun Pack is small in stature, but huge in fun! Pre-order yours now.
