Derpy's Flying School by ~xkappax

Grim news folks. Its just been reported by BBC News that has been taken down by the US government. How is this pony related? Well its where Mentos and Spazz have always uploaded their encodes, which means our entire episode guide just went dark (outside of Mr. Back’s episode transcripts).

From the BBC:

The site’s founder and others have been charged with violating piracy laws.

Federal prosecutors have accused it of costing copyright holders more than $500m (£320m) in lost revenue. The firm says it was diligent in responding to complaints about pirated material.

Investigators denied a link to recent protests against proposed piracy laws, according to the Wall Street Journal.

On Wednesday, thousands of websites took part in a “blackout” to protest against the Stop Online Piracy Act (Sopa) and the Protect Intellectual Property Act (Pipa).

More details to come.

  • Meh. I wish you real fast upload speeds, so it won’t be too much of a nuisance.

  • There ARE torrents of season 1 in HD. I have it. And I’m sure sooner or later, season 2 will torrent in HD as well.

  • Anyway, I use Megaupload frequently, i even saw part of episode one last monday.

The charges the Dpt of State and FBI are putting on the MUpload ppl are exagerated and saying lies like files with few downloads were deleted to boost files with more DLs. I had a file there, for about 2 years with very few DLs and they never deleted it.

Well, I’m working on uploading everything to MediaFire as obscured and encrypted, multi-part .7z. So far, I only got to S01E10, but now I’ll try to upload as much as I can every day.

  • Spazz

Welp, good thing I’ve got this

  • koscum

Megaupload is up and running again:

Though this was a massive show of force it showed how useless the SOPA/PIPA/OPEN legislation is and their only defense for this action and their continued support of SOPA/PIPA/OPEN will be that “Well it took us a long time to get to this point (and a fraudulent criminal conspiratorial money laundering charge) and the legislation would make it easier (meaning that due process would go out the window and they could directly force websites to “go dark”…foreeeeverrrr)

  • I had a feeling this was coming. And then it did. If all else fails, I’ll have to wait until MLP comes out on television over here, then buy it off iTunes. But that could take many months…

    • Sweet. We are in the process of uploading all of ours, but I’ll list this in the doc section at the bottom of the eguide, if I’m not mistaken you guys are using the TrollHD rips too (from what I’ve been told).

It’s pitiful how they treat this like a victory when there are like 2 dozen other sites that work the exact same way as megaupload, most of which have fewer scruples. All the accomplished was to piss off legit users and small businesses that used it. Pirates will be delayed possibly half an hour tops by this while they go use one of the many better sources for pirated material.
