Newbury Comics Variant

The results are in. According to Comichron.com, July was one of the best months for comics since October of 2012. As it should, for the My Little Pony comics remain a solid entry on the best sellers list as well as for IDW Publishing. Click below to see the results.

First off, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic #9 finished in the 66th spot selling 35,153 estimated physical copies. The highest selling IDW comic of July outsold Daredevil and Nova from Marvel and beat out 53 of DC Comics’ titles on the Top 300. I guess comics are not just for 45 year-olds, Dan DiDio.

In addition, My Little Pony Micro-Series #6…featuring Applejack finished just outside the Top 100 selling an estimated 24,350 physical copies. Applejack’s entry into the micro-series beat out such titles as Avengers Arena from Marvel and Animal Man from DC Comics.

That’s it for July. The My Little Pony comics continue in August with the conclusion to Big Macintosh’s story in My Little Pony #10 as well as the Cutie Mark Crusaders entry into the micro-series with My Little Pony Micro-Series #7. Happy reading.

The streak continues… the main comic has been IDW’s #1 seller every single month so far. I think only one of the micro series comics (Fluttershy’s?) has failed to be IDW’s #2, too.
