Odds and Ends #2

Here again some news that didn’t make our post threshold but may be interesting nonetheless, particularly as a record for future generations… or let’s say seasons.

Thanks to the last point, I’ve decided to publish this post ahead of time—not that there ever was a set time.

  • Congratulations to Nikki Reed, the new senior vice president for programming and development at The Hub! Actually, programming and development is exactly what I do professionally, and I love it! I also love polysemy.
  • Congrats also to the Union of BC Performers on negotiating a “tentative agreement [containing] a 1.5% general wage increase effective March 31, 2013 and another 1.5% increase effective March 30, 2014.”
  • Uncanny, mostly accurate presentiments already betrayed that the authors of these mysterious pony books are in contact with the production team, so it comes as no surprise that Meghan McCarthy herself helped in at least one case.
  • Equestria Daily (via Whatshisgame) recently posted this video on Vimeo, a 3D animation commissioned by Hasbro for some sort of presentation. So those are, in a way, the first “official” 3D-animated ponies. I detect an egregious lack of Twilight.
  • Here’s a photo of Jayson Thiessen (about 7,645 followers), Mike Vogel (about 1,731 followers), and Brian Lenard (about 166 followers). You see the problem? Please help equalize that.
  • If you know something about music, then bookmark this tweet, and in half a year or so, see if you can match it to any new pony song. (Steffan Andrews: “The tempo track of the song I’m orchestrating today. …”)
  • Finally, what you’ve all been waiting for: Yesterday, Cindy Morrow started to publish some trivia about the early stages of the development of our favorite show; soon others started to chime in, in particular Lauren Faust. Stay tuned for more—if there is more.
