Papermag – Pony Up: The Cult of Bronies, by Andrew W.K.

Conan-appearing musician Andrew W.K. recently wrote an article for Papermag giving a quick outline of both  the brony phenomenon and his appearance at Canterlot Gardens.  It’s pretty short, and all told, it’s nothing that hasn’t been said (coupled with a title I rather wholeheartedly disagree with), but it does end on a postive note.

Far too often, grown-ups are encouraged to separate themselves from their urge to play and use their imagination. I think this is a crime against the human spirit and slowly rots the adult soul. It’s crucial that we all stay close to joy, and if ponies give that joy to people, let them have it. Joy is part of what makes a human being a fully realized person.
