Faded memories of 2010 and early 2011 flicker in my mind.  Why are you watching this?  Its just a fad.  It’ll only be a few seasons.  While most people would say “Who is laughing now?!”, in a world of colorful equines, some question just how far this animated meteor in space will go, before the inevitable crash into the moon of cancellation.

Well enough with the dark and ominous writing.  John de Lancie kind of, sort of confirmed that a Season 8 is in production.  Talks about it have floated around of course, but nothing really concrete has been said by neither Hasbro or crew.  While this isn’t an official, we can confidently say that Season 8 is at the point of needing the voices recorded.  The ride shall never end.

Better I do a more serious discussion about this putting aside the unnecessary drama I did during the hiatus after the S6 finale. Premise: all of these are just personal opinions, you can disagree if you want.

Personally: I feel Hasbro is going way too far in overmilking this show, and we all know what happens to shows who get this kind of treatment (I. E. The Simpsons. Spongebob, Fairly Odd parents and similar) and while I complexively loved most of the S6, the two episodes I STRONGLY disliked (The CART Before the Ponies and To Where and Back Again, and even the beginning scene of a 28 Pranks Later although I still found the rest of the episode to be coherent) were to me the first TRUE sign of quality dropping, because those episodes suffered of an HEAVY flaw that killed shows like the ones I mentioned above: ignoring past developments to make the story working. AJ, RD and Rarity would NEVER act like that toward their little sisters at this point of the series, RD should know VERY WELL that Fluttershy doesn’t like to be scared at this point of the series (again, that was the only thing I hated from that episode, I like all the rest) and TWABA ignored WAAAAAAY many things happened in Canterlot Wedding that made it looks like that the MANE 6 and the Princesses were treated like trash with no value only to make the story working. Now, these were only 2.1 episodes out of 24 in the season, so the quality drop will be of course gradual…. but that’s the problem! The more time this show will be kept going on, the more frequent these problems will become until they cover whole seasons. And honestly, I don’t like this. Now, I explained in past several others personal problems I created myself by watching this series too much possessively and this is the main reason I’m gonna quit after the Movie regardless (again, I’m still fully watching the S7 in the Meantime as now my paranoical worries about the “new direction” are gone), but even if I wouldn’t have been so idiotically possessive for this show I’d probably still quit after the Movie anyway because this.

Ah whatever let’s just cut this short: IMO Hasbro is really exagerating in overmilking this series and because this, I feel the first signs of quality dropping started to appear. Personal opinion anyway. Feel free to disagree.

At least this time I tried to do more constructive criticism compared to my past dumb dramas. Besides, you really think MLP could keep high it’s quality Forever? You can disagree with me on what I said but, quality dropping for long running it’s not something to understimate.

        • Shelltoon

Of course I don’t expect it to keep its quality. I feel the show peaked at S5, but I’m not going to be like you and make a public spectacle posting in every single article about leaving the fandom like I’m somebody important. The way you come into every article talking about the show’s “decline,” you’re acting as if you crave the attention like you are the most important person on this website.

I’ve gained a lot from this show, it gave me an actual reason to live in the sense that it made me pick up a pencil and start drawing again. I rediscovered my passion for illustration as a result. So when the ride ends, at least I’m leaving on a high note, and not acting like an entitled brat who thinks he’s owed the world’s attention because the show isn’t to his liking. It’s fine if you want to leave, but you don’t need to post the same shit every single article posted here like it’s Nickelodeon announcing a 24 hour marathon of Spongebob episodes before airing a brand new one that didn’t even make it to the 11 minute mark.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, nobody cares Moby. Nobody cares. No one.

You know, I owe a lot to MLP too, after all it is the series who made me discover modern animation…….. but I also putted myself into a terrible mess by idiotically following it too much possessively (and pretty much…. yes, the dramas I did in the comments in the last 6 months are… one of the consequences of my big mistake) and I really want to get out of this. Now I wanted to express my feelings more seriously after all the times I’ve been so annoying in the last months. mothing more nothing lessReally, I’m very very VERY sorry I made this going on for so long, I really want to get out of here….. my heart has always been at the right place…

          • Shelltoon

If you want out, then leave. It’s seriously not that hard to leave something behind. Nobody is forcing you to stay in this fandom, and watch the movie other than YOURSELF. We can’t get you out of a fandom you’ve invested yourself in, that falls on YOU.

          • Raffaele Lanza

            It’s….. more complicated than that…
